You don’t have to go far to be in earshot of someone discussing complaining about the road construction in Spokane. I’ll be the first to admit, when I’m late to an appointment and sitting in the hot sun waiting my turn to move ten feet on the freeway, I’m one of them.
When you think about it, we don’t have much time during the year when construction is practical. All of our construction is crammed into a few good months of weather, and for years like this one, more like a few good weeks of weather.
Maybe I never notice, or as a kid my priorities were much different.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not complaining. I’m completely thankful to drive on nice roads, even though it’s slow during the winter and slow during the summer for construction…
