Municipalities Attempt to Curb Fraud by Fingerprinting.
Very interesting article.
So you’ve just sold your home and will be moving to a new home when the notary requests to take your fingerprints… what do you do?
As the article states most people associate fingerprinting with a crime, I can’t say I disagree. The fingerprinting law, set to take effect June 1, 2009, is aimed at curbing fraud, a growign problem in home transactions.
I’m trying to think of what a finger print will do that we can’t already do with copying picture ID etc. Say someone fraudulantly conducts a transaction… we have their fingerprints… what do we do now? If they’ve never been in trouble with the law before the fingerprint is a good as a coaster for your coffee.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
